Beginning of the Year

Welcome to the 2019 SCB Soccer Season!

SCB would like to start the season off by saying thank you for being a part of our league by stepping into the role as a soccer referee.  By being an active referee, you play a large part in helping 60+ teams, its players, team officials, and parents enjoy the game and in fair and fun manner.

Uniforms:  appearance is a big part of refereeing.  It is usually the first impression that you give to the teams and spectators about yourself.  That being said, make sure your referee shirt is tucked into your shorts, that your badge is on your shirt, and your socks are pulled up like they should be. Make sure you bring all of your referee jerseys to the field too in case you have to change colours.  It is an easy little thing you can do to start your assignment off on a good note!

Game Sheets:  home team will supply you with at least one game sheet (should be 3).  Make sure the away team has a chance to edit their roster on the game sheets as well.  At the end of the game sheet, the referee is to keep the top (or one) copy of the game sheet.    The referee is to file a match report at the end of every game they are in charge of.  The report will include the score, any cautions/dismissal information (name and # of the player(s), team(s) and for what did they receive the game for (i.e. USB, Dissent, Serious Foul Play, etc.) given out in the games, any team official ejections, and any other incident that SCB should be made aware of.  This information, along with a scan copies or pictures of the completed game sheets are to be emailed to scbscores@gmail.com within 24 hours of the completion of the game.

Last year we had the scores and a copy of the game sheet within 24 hours of the game, over 90% of the time so well done!

Discipline:  all cards are to be reported on the game sheets and red cards are to have a SNS misconduct report submitted within 72 hours of the game.  Normally this report is done online but Demosphere is still working on the referee section.  If you need a copy of the misconduct sheet, you will find it on the Soccer NS website (www.soccerns.ca) or contact Wendell MacGibbon.  If you have any question in regards to filling out a misconduct report, or need to talk to someone about an incident that happened at one of your games, please reach out to Wendell MacGibbon or Scott Mabee as soon as possible.

Logging on to the Demosphere System - If you haven't been able to log on to the referee management system please send an email to sns.assigning@gmail.com with "can't log in" in the subject line.  Norma will send you specific instructions for your log in.

How to show you are not available - The Demosphere system wants you to black out the dates you are NOT available.  The Guide (see link below shows you how to do it).  Start making it a habit to blackout dates on your Demosphere calendar when you make another commitment.   If I know your availability is accurate, you are the first officials I will call if I need an official at the last minute

If you have any questions or concerns, please contact Wendell MacGibbon (wmacgibbon@seascape.ns.ca) or Scott Mabee (soccermabee21@gmail.com)
