CAPE BRETON FC's U15AA Boys will contest the Soccer Nova Scotia Provincial Final tomorrow (Sunday August 25) after a dramatic penalty shoot-out win over United DFC in Halifax.
Goals from Luke Andrea, Zach McIntyre, a Jaxon MacNamara penalty and Lachlan MacNeil had secured a 4-4 tie in regulation time in a pulsating match.
Then in the shoot-out all five CBFC kickers held their nerve to score before keeper Charles Horne pulled off a superb stop to clinch a shot at the gold medal.
Co-Head Coach Edward Lee said: "It was a such a tough game but the boys battled hard and they deserved it, now we need one more big effort to end a great season on a high."
The CAPERS will face Storm in the Final on Sunday in Halifax at Mainland Commons in a game that kicks off at 11am.
