THE BLUE WAVE...the Whitney Pier Falcons clinched the #ForeverOrange U11 Girls Cup in a thrilling 4-3 Final win over the excellent New Waterford Grey Wolves.
SOCCER CAPE BRETON this weekend welcomed 35 teams, over 300 players and countless families and fans to the CBU Campus for the #ForeverOrange Jamboree 2025.
The event was a huge success for the U9 and U11 Girls and Boys brackets as we once again established this awesome weekend as a crucial part of the island’s soccer calendar.
Amid a feast of goals, fun and smiles our younger players had the thrill of playing a host of games on the grass field or inside in the CBU Dome and they had a blast.
When the dust settled on the final game at around 5pm on Sunday evening our four new trophies were owned by the following champions:
U9 Girls: Albert Bridge Cubs
U9 Boys: Riverview Rockets
U11 Girls: Whitney Pier Falcons
U11 Boys: Whitney Pier Eagles
Soccer Cape Breton would like to thank all the players, coaches and families for their support of the event.
We would also like to give a special shout-out to our Summer Soccer Coordinators Alyse Tierney and Ryan Wadden and all of our volunteers who worked tirelessly to make the Jamboree work alongside our Vice-President of Competitions Tori Horvath.
Regional Director of Soccer Development Iain King said: “Behind the scenes our Facilities Manager Curtis Green and his staff also worked so hard to accommodate the many moving parts of a tournament like this.
“We had brilliant volunteers like those at New Waterford helping us with goal set-up, a superb contribution from all of our young referees and our U17AAA Girls CAPERS Academy girls bringing so much energy with the face-painting stand.
“The event wasn’t perfect, we learned a lot about how to make it better for 2026, and we will discuss that with our club leads in our Technical Group wrap-up.
“Our biggest takeaway, though, was all the smiles from the kids who loved it. That’s why we all get involved in youth sport in the first place and we made some special memories at the weekend.”
